In a large bowl, mash the minced meat using a fork until it forms a more consistent paste.
Measure out 50 gram portions and roll them into balls.
Taking one ball of meat, gently roll it back and forth in your hands or on a flat surface to create a thin sausage. Place it on a tray that’s safe to go in the freezer, and curl the top down to form a cane shape.
Repeat the process for each ball, until you have 5 meat canes on a tray.
Place the tray in the freezer.
After 4 hours, take the tray out of the freezer and soak the bottom in some warm water for a minute or so. This will loosen the treats from the bottom. Alternatively, you could freeze the treats on parchment paper to prevent them from sticking to the tray.
Melt the coconut oil over low heat or in the microwave.
One by one, place the treats on a cooling rack. Using a teaspoon, drizzle over the coconut oil in diagonal lines. It’s difficult to make this pretty, as you can see from how ours turned out, but that is alright!
Store the treats in the freezer until you’re ready to feed.
